My thanks for my patron's patience with this commission! (If you'd like to commission an Original Finger Painting or a limited edition print, please contact me.)
Anyway, it is finally off and running (I might have mentioned a white cat in one of my newsletters, Inviting Beauty, to which you might enjoy subscribing) and I thought I'd share.
The background awaits filling in, and I will be adding details to the cat and tree branch once the paint dries. I'm not sure if I'll go with the treasured cherry blossoms in this Original Finger Painting--I might just go with some golden clouds in the Japanese style along with a delicious blue sky.
I've also included the rough sketch for this piece. The eyeless cat is kind of weird!
I stopped pencil sketching my paintings about two years ago when I realized I could save time by just gettin' down and painting. I think it brings a spontaneity to the image, and makes it more fun for me, too.
Now, while things are drying, I'm going to set myself to other tasks.
