Public Art Box Dedication

The ceremony dedicating the art for the utility boxes happened today at the corner of King's Village and Mount Hermon Road. (For other upcoming events, check my Events section!)

The mayor of Scotts Valley, Dene Bustichi, as well as the arts commission and some of the sponsors were present to acknowledge the work of the artists in particular, and the positive effects of art on the community in general.

People slowed down (we were at an intersection, at one of the utility boxes) and pulled over to tell us how much they loved the images that now graced their drive into and out of town. It was real-time feedback on how art really does influence our environment, mood, and society itself.

Never underestimate the power of creativity!

Take care,

I.
